resources

Made for vets who have struggled, by a vet who gets it.

A collection of tools designed with common sticking points in mind. To be used before, during or after appointments to give you the quick answers that you need in the moment, or the deeper understanding for after.

Scroll through or click on the links below to see what each is about!

Whether you do day, night or locum shifts - I know what each is like. You're trying your best on no lunch and/or sleep, attempting to dredge up hazy information from the depths of your brain, you've forgotten where you put your CPD notes and your next appointment arrives in ten minutes.

I've produced these resources with all of this in mind - sometimes you just need a helping hand to either jog your memory or teach you something entirely new, and you need it quickly.

I really have poured my heart and soul into each of these programs, and my only hope is that they provide the help to you now that I could have used back then!

DIAGNOSTIC AID

Ever found yourself faced with an eye you have no idea what to do with? This could be your new best friend.

    • Ulceration

    • Vision Loss

    • Identifying Lesions of the Cornea and Anterior Chamber

    • Eye in Abnormal Position

  • Easy-to-use

Simply answer a couple of questions and the Aid will suggest the most likely differentials.

Eye cases can be intimidating, confusing, and they're stressful to deal with when you don't know what you're treating. There's too many differentials to keep track of - I know. Let the Diagnostic Aids help you understand what could be causing it, so you can get quicker resolutions for your patients.

RAPID FIRE

Pretty sure you've got the diagnosis, but can't quite remember what to do about it?

Need a refresher of the essential information before a consult?

Wanting to make sure you haven't missed anything that has similar clinical signs?

Rapid Fire was designed for just that: giving you the step-by-step information you need to know in the moment so you can be confident in your consultation and treatment plan.

50+ ocular conditions listed, each tailored to include the most important facts you need. No need to commit it all to memory if you don't fancy it - the information will be there for you again when you see another case!

Search by condition or by clinical sign to see other conditions to consider.

FORMULARY

Information for each ophthalmic drug, in one handy location, with its own indications and considerations for use, and my own hints for each thrown in.

Want to know your overall options for each condition? Filter the results by category, displaying only the relevant information for you to choose what you feel is appropriate.**

Contains information on what each drop is best used for, licensing information and my own tried and tested anecdotes. It's not reinventing the wheel: it's helping you wheel it the right way.

**interactive components are for members

WEBINARS

For those who want to go more in-depth to understand the why of eye conditions, and - arguably more importantly - the what to do about it

A whole library of webinars designed to explore each topic in a way that's understandable

Examine and explain common misunderstandings

Including:

  • Why changing to exocin or serum drops probably won't help your chronic ulcer to heal

  • Why a diamond burr won't help you in 90% of cases (and what will)

  • Why C&S profiles are rarely useful for conjunctivitis

Question section

And while no question is ever a stupid question, the option to post anonymously is there

Help you to understand which conditions to refer, when to refer them and what to do if referral isn't an option for the patient

Downloadable notes for each webinar

Available to store on your phone or computer to pull up whenever you need it: because ultimately we all forget the details of lectures with time, and that's ok

CPD certificate provided for each

Available individually on-demand, or have access to the full library with an annual membership

HOW TO VIDEOS

Exactly what it says on the tin - surgical videos of some of the most common procedures!

Each video begins with an understandable step-by-step walk-through of the aims of the procedure, when it is indicated and - if relevant - common mistakes and how to avoid them

An ever-expanding library with new videos in the works!

Let’s be clear – none of this is designed to replace the option of referring patients or seeking advice from an ophthalmologist.

Eyes are great, but like any organ they can do weird and wonderful things that lie beyond the scope of first opinion.

More rather, these tools are here to help you understand common conditions, know which things need referring sooner and to give you a clue about what to do in the first instance if referral is not an option.
